14 August 2016 - Blessed Through the Blood of Jesus - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineIn AD 70, General Titus led the Roman Army to raze Jerusalem to the ground. General Titus commanded his soldiers not to destroy the Temple, but as the soldiers fought, some of the torches of fire fell into the temple and the gold in between the cracks of the stones of the temple melted and started flowing down. This caused the soldiers to ignore General Titus' command and throw down the stones of the temple to get the gold. The son of the emperor of Rome said don't destroy the temple, whereas the Son of God (Jesus) said not one stone will be left on another. Jesus' word always comes to pass. You can be sure that God's prophecies will come to pass. Tisha B'Av - the 9th of Av : The date of mourning the destruction of the ancient Temples and Jerusalem, and other major calamities which have befallen the Jewish people. Zechariah 12:3, 8-9 - There is a covenant between God and Israel: Whichever nation comes against Israel will be broken. “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it... In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them. It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:3, 8-9 NKJV) There is no place for Anti-Semitism.
God loves the world world, not just the Jews. He so loved the world that He sent His Son, not that He only loved Israel.
Matthew 26:27-28 - Many coverings in the Bible do not happen without the shedding of blood. Adam and Eve were clothed and crowned with the glory of God before they sinned and fell. When they sinned, the glory of God disappeared. God covered Adam and Eve with the bloodstained coat of lamb skin - the lamb represents Jesus slain and blood shed for the forgiveness of sins. Adam and Eve taught their children, Cain and Abel, to bring the blood sacrifices to God. However, Cain did not do as taught. Today there are many 'Cains'. They want to come to God with their good works to justify themselves. God wants us to come to Him admitting that we are sinners and that we need to accept what Jesus has done at the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. “Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:27-28 NKJV) Ephesians 1:7 - We confess our sins to God because we have the forgiveness of sins, not in order to be forgiven. The word "have" is in the present-active tense which means you have to actively declare and possess your redemption. “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7 NKJV) One Jesus is worth more than all humans, all angels and all galaxies. Genesis 4:10 - Cain was jealous of his brother Abel, and he murdered Abel. This is the first time in the Bible that blood is mentioned. The Law of First Mention: Every time something is mentioned for the first time in the Bible, there is something God wants us to learn from it. We learn here that blood has a voice - it goes beyond DNA and scientific discoveries about blood. Although blood is the physically manifested, it is spiritual in nature. "And he said, What have you done? the voice of your brother's blood cries unto me from the ground." (Genesis 4:10 NKJV) Hebrews 12:24-25 - It seems that Jesus and the blood are spoken of as separate things. Don't refuse the voice of grace. The penalty of rejecting grace is worst than rejecting the Law. “to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,” (Hebrews 12:24-25 NKJV) In South Korea, when you plant a crop, it blossoms and grows. In North Korea, when you plant a crop, it dies. Same weather but different results. It is a well-known fact. The earth does not yield it's crop in North Korea because there's many killings and blood spilled there. Under the Old Covenant, the lepers were never cleansed, so the processions to do after a leper was cleansed were never done. However when Jesus came, He cleansed the lepers. The teachers of the Law went from Jerusalem to Galilee to see it for themselves because it has never happened before. The Messiah has come to cleanse His people. ![]()
Adam and Eve taught their children, Cain and Abel, to bring the blood sacrifices to God. However, Cain did not do as taught. Today there are many 'Cains'. Colossians 1:20, Job 1:6-7 - The gender of the word "things" in this verse is neuter. It's not referring to humans, but to Jesus' other created things. When you declare the blood of Christ to cover an injured part of your body, it will be reconciled and made healed. What was cleansed in heaven? Adam had access to God before he fell. But then later he sinned, bowed his knee to Satan the outlaw spirit, and the rulership of the earth was given to Satan. There was a place that was unclean in heaven because Satan kept going to Adam's place in heaven to accuse God's people. In Job 1, it shows that Satan went before the Lord in heaven to accuse Job's character. “and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.” (Colossians 1:20 NKJV) “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”” (Job 1:6-7 NKJV) Revelation 12:10-11 - When Jesus shed His blood, Satan lost his right to access heaven. “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:10-11 NKJV) Revelation 1:5 - We are not just covered by the blood, but WASHED in Jesus' blood. “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,” (Revelation 1:5 NKJV) You can use the blood of Jesus to cover things. You can cover your car, your children, etc. You can apply the blood of Jesus with hyssop - your tongue. Just by declaring the blood of Jesus, you are applying it. The blood of Jesus has the protective power to stop death, infection, etc! Psalms 132:4-6 - The Ark of the Covenant was lost and it was found in Ephrathah. David was from Bethlehem Ephrathah. What was David's secret? He had a passion for God. God found a man after His heart. If you have a heart to place Jesus at the center, God's favor is marking you. “I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; We found it in the fields of the woods.” (Psalms 132:4-6 NKJV) Under the Old Covenant, on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest would sprinkle blood on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant. What do the materials that the Ark of Covenant is made of represent? The Ark speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ. The acacia wood represents the impeccability of Jesus, that He cannot sin. The gold represents the divinity and Godship of Jesus. The three items (the pot of manna, Aaron's stafff and the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments) inside the Ark of the Covenant represent man's rebellion against God. The three items are placed under the mercy seat which is sprinkled with blood, covering the sins of man. God loves to place Jesus in the center - Jesus was crucified in between the two thieves. John saw Jesus in the midst of the seven lampstands in his vision in the Book of Revelation. The proper way to transport the Ark of the Covenant is to carry it with the two poles attached to it. When the Philistines transported the Ark, they put it on a bullock cart, but nothing happened because they were ignorant of its glory. However, when David found the Ark of the Covenant, he put it on a bullock cart. The bull stumbled because there was no grace or favor, and the Ark shifted. Uzzah, who was with David, saw it happened and touched the Ark and he died. "Uzzah" means strength. When man tries to depend on his own strength, it produces death. David put the Ark in the house of Obed-Edom. The world worships the strongest, the richest, the most attractive, whereas the heroes of Jesus' parables are the lost, last and the least. It's much easier to be the lost, last and least. God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. II Samuel 6:11-15 - Gittites are from Gath. It's a city of the Philistines. Gittites are Gentiles. Why was Obed-Edom blessed and how come he knew how to handle the Ark? Part of the secret lies in his name - "Obed-Edom" means "serving the blood". David received the revelation of the blood. Every six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep, and pillars of smoke from the sacrificing went up towards heaven all the way to the City of David. “The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed Obed-Edom and all his household. Now it was told King David, saying, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.” (II Samuel 6:11-15 NKJV) ![]()

I Chronicles 15:25-28 - Under the Old Covenant when you have a great revelation of the blood, you offer up the best. Bulls have a lot of blood in their bodies. Under the New Covenant, when you have a great revelation of the blood of Jesus, you will have great bullock-sized wealth. “So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-Edom with joy. And so it was, when God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bulls and seven rams. David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the music master with the singers. David also wore a linen ephod. Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the horn, with trumpets and with cymbals, making music with stringed instruments and harps.” (I Chronicles 15:25-28 NKJV) The right way for the Ark of the Covenant to be carried is by the poles, on the shoulders, and not like the system of the world, which is to place it on the bullock cart. When you lift Jesus high, all your enemies will scatter. Whatever God tells you to do, do it His way. When you obey God, He will help you. You just do the first part and He will do the rest. Sometimes inactivity makes you weak. Do what God wants you to do, and your energy, strength and youth will be supplied and renewed. I Chronicles 26:4-8 - Obed-Edom's family was greatly blessed as well. There's no greater blessing than family blessings. “Moreover the sons of Obed–edom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth, Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him. Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were mighty men of valour. The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah. All these of the sons of Obed–edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Obed–edom.” (1 Chronicles 26:4-8 KJV) If there's something you're doing that is going against your conscience, stop it. There is redemption for you in the blood of Jesus. ![]()
