15 June 2014 - We are no Longer Under the Law - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Psalm 91 protects us from the gamut of problems in our human life. Miracles don't only happen when hands are laid. It happens when people hear the word of God. God confirms the word with signs and wonders. Glory to God happens when there is goodness given to men. Jesus came so that we would have life, and life more abundantly. The gospel is about God's grace, and If we believe it, it produces prosperity in our life. It's not that we don't have money. It's that we don't have the discipline to keep the money. We often buy things we want, and realise that we don't need it. Godliness doesn't come with age. It comes with revelation. To the extent that we doubt the gospel, we have symptoms of the curse of the Law. When we make our Christian walk about us and what we have to do to be justified, we come under the curse of the Law. 
When the word of God is preached, faith stirs in the hearts of the people hearing it, and people get healed, set free from their bondages, and they have the grace to receive the salvation that Jesus offers, as well as eternal life.
Angels are not given the privilege to preach the gospel. This privilege is only given to those who were once sinners, and who are now saved (Christians). Acts 10:43-48 - The original evidence of people receiving salvation - people speaking in tongues and magnifying God. "To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? ” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days." (Acts 10:43-48 NKJV) 
Water baptism is not a requirement to become a Christian today, as we are baptised in the Holy Spirit the moment we receive Jesus into our lives, which is the true baptism. However, water baptism is a public proclamation of your identity as a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. It is an act of faith, and God is well pleased with people who have faith.
God is not out to get you, God is out to bless you. Acts 11:15-18 - God gives all of us the grace to repent and receive the same salvation in Jesus Christ, as well as to change our minds about what we wrongly believe. “After I began speaking, the Holy Spirit came on them just as he came on us at the beginning." Then I remembered the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘John baptized people in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’ God gave these people the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. So how could I object to what God wanted to do?” When the Jewish believers heard this, they stopped arguing. They praised God and said, “So God is also allowing even those who are not Jews to change their hearts so that they can have the life he gives!” (Acts 11:15-18 , ERV) Acts 15:1-31 - The Law stands as a composite whole. If it is to be obeyed, it has to be obeyed completely, or it is totally obsolete. We are no longer under the Law of Moses. Our hearts are purified by faith. Don't test God by going back to keeping the Law of Moses, when Jesus has already delivered us from the Law and given us His righteousness. There is only one gospel for all. When you're in trouble, don't go to a worldly counsellor. Go to the Holy Spirit for counseling. The devil unsettles your soul with wrong teaching. Ask yourself whether the message you are hearing is stabilising your soul, or unsettling it. The gospel of grace stabilises our soul and gives us peace. 
The Holy Spirit is typified as a dove, as how He descended from Heaven upon Jesus at the Jordan River. The Holy Spirit lives in us as believers, and He helps us in many ways. For one, He teaches us the interpretation of the word of God.
