26 February 2017 - The Holy Spirit is Jesus Unlimited! - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineJesus is the Great Physician. What is impossible with man is possible with God. The Holy Spirit is omnipotent and omnipresent. It is the same Holy Spirit everywhere in the world. God has many body parts in heaven and He can give you a new one if yours is faulty. You don't have to be special, or better than other believers - It is given by grace. Pastor Joseph Prince prophesying: "You're my Healing Jesus, the Son of righteousness, who refreshes and renews me, for such a time as this." There is no distance or time in the Holy Spirit. The same anointing present in this service is present when you listen to it via broadcast or by MP3. We are now in the Year of Jubilee. God proclaims it. Back then it was proclaimed by the ram's horn - the ram's horn is taken from the ram after it is killed. Sounding the ram's horn proclaims the death of the Lamb of God. Jesus has every right to live but He chose to become a curse and to die for us so that we can enjoy every blessing from God. We don't deserve all the blessings, but the best thing we can do to honor what Jesus did is to receive the blessings with humility. Jubilee means freedom - whether you are a devoted believer or not. It's got nothing to do with what or who you are, but it's got everything to do with Who and What God is. The Prime Minister of Israel came to Singapore last week and there was a fire rainbow in the sky that day, which appears to have a "77" in it. 7 is the number of perfect and rest in the Bible. The first time 7 appears in the Bible is when God finished His work of creation and He rested on the seventh day. John 16:14 - The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Divine Triune-Godhead. The Holy Spirit came not to glorify Himself but to glorify Jesus. The Holy Spirit's primary role is to glorify Jesus. The Holy Spirit is not in us to convict us of our sins. He convicts the unsaved world of their sins, but not for believers. There is correction with the Holy Spirit, but His primary role is still to glorify Jesus. “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:14 NKJV) We have only one commandment asked of us - love one another. It's not a hard commandment. It's like commanding someone who is hungry "I command you to eat!". It's our nature as believers to love. Do you harbor bitterness towards someone in your heart? Stop it, it's not in your nature to do that and you'll not be happy. John 14:16-18 - After Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit descended on the Day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is like Jesus again but in an unlimited form. There is no time, distance nor space with the Holy Spirit - He is Jesus unlimited. Jesus will come to us - this is talking about the Rapture, not Jesus' Second Coming. Preaching about the Rapture is not impractical - it is a hope that purifies believers. When you say "In Jesus' name" it means it's as if Jesus Himself is praying - when Jesus prays, the Father definitely hears. The Holy Spirit is here not to nag at you but He's a Comforter. He's here to help you. In the Old Covenant, the Holy Spirit comes on someone to achieve a purpose and then He goes away - He came on Samson and caused him to tear apart a lion, and then He left. He came on Gideon to give him victory and then He left. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:16-18 NKJV) Romans 5:5 - The Holy Spirit is there to let you know that God loves you. Why is there no mention of the Holy Spirit in the first four chapters of Romans? God doesn't want us to confound the work of Christ FOR you, with the work of Christ IN you. God doesn't want you introspective - He wants you focused on Jesus. The first four chapters of Romans is all about the work of Christ for us. You must be established in the work of Christ FOR you first before you can be established in the work of the Holy Spirit IN you. “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5 NKJV) Why was Jesus' blood shed on the cross? Because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. When the children of Israel were in Egypt: God said "When I see the blood I will pass over you." It's not about what you see, it's about what God sees. What He sees is most important. Hebrews 10:15-18 - The Holy Spirit witnesses TO us and also witnesses IN us. The Holy Spirit shares this blessed witness with us: The Holy Spirit saw that all our sins were put on Jesus at the cross and none of them were missed out on - All our sins from youth, to adulthood, to middle age, and beyond - all our sins were put upon Jesus at the cross! The Holy Spirit righteously and judicially tells us that God remembers our sins no more. There was a time that God remembered our sins, but by the work of Jesus on the cross, God remembers our sins no more - If you believe this truth, you will have perfect peace. Us receiving God's forgiveness is all of Christ and none of us - it was not obtained by even a sliver of our works or merits. “But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.” (Hebrews 10:15-18 NKJV) Romans 8:13-16 - How do you know that you are being led by the Spirit? How do you put to death the deeds of the body? It's by the Spirit. King Saul did not put to death the Amalekites and he was killed by an Amalekite - The deeds of the body that you don't put to death, they will put you to death. We do not have to have a slavish fear of God - we should have an intimacy with Him. Know that the Holy Spirit loves you. Call God "Abba Father". You must know the Holy Spirit's witness TO us: Because of what Jesus did on the cross, God remembers our sins no more. This is the Holy Spirit's witness IN us: That you are a child of God. God cares for everything about us, even what we consider insignificant. If you think that God doesn't care about details - God knows the number of hairs on your hair. When you bring the small things to God, you are complimenting Him - You are saying "No one can do it but You". “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:13-16 NKJV)
The Holy Spirit shares this blessed witness with us: The Holy Spirit saw that all our sins were put on Jesus at the cross and none of them were missed out on - All our sins from youth, to adulthood, to middle age, and beyond - all our sins were put upon Jesus at the cross! Galatians 5:18 - The Holy Spirit will never lead you to divorce your wife. Instead, the Holy Spirit will lead you to love your wife, or if you are a woman, to love your husband. Sometimes you may do a good thing, but it may not be a Spirit-led thing. Follow the Spirit! All diets don't work because it is by Law. Diets make you feel self-righteous towards your friends who are not on diets. The Law makes you feel self-righteous. The slimming effects of dieting doesn't last - after you end your diet program, your body tells itself that it's starving and retains everything that you eat and you put on more weight than before. Or you could be following your grandmother's law - When you are eating food, a voice may pop up in your head saying "Thou shalt not waste food. Eat everything". All these doesn't work because it's by Law. Eat by faith or throw the food away. Follow the Spirit. In everything in life, He will tell you. For example, the parenting experts may tell you this law: that you must discipline your child if not they will become rebellious, but if you follow the Spirit, the Spirit may know that the child is not rebelling but he/she may be tired. The Holy Spirit knows when and how to do things. “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (Galatians 5:18 NKJV) John 14:26-27 - Pastor Prince believes that the Holy Spirit teaches us more often with the red light (restraining us from doing something) than the green light (allowing us to do something, and all the while giving us God's peace) The Holy Spirit teaches us ALL things - it is an unqualified statement. He even teaches us how to be a good parent, spouse, etc. The Holy Spirit teaches us on the wavelength of peace - peace should be our default mode. God's peace is not based on emotions, but it is based on the unshakable word of God. We should be in peace most of the time, but when suddenly you feel a restraint on you preventing you from doing something, it is the Holy Spirit protecting you from something. The devil wants to drive you and push you to do things. The Holy Spirit is not like that. He doesn't want to possess you like evil spirits do. The Holy Spirit never drives you, takes over control of you, possesses you, or removes your personality - God uses and likes your personality. He never bypasses your personality - The writers of the Four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all had their own distinct personalities visible in the books. The Holy Spirit may use you to pray for someone even if you're not a pastor. Just flow with the Spirit. If you feel led to text someone, don't be worried. You are not alone, the Holy Spirit is with you. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:26-27 NKJV) You can tell all your worries to Jesus. Tell it all to Jesus. Don't be afraid that "what you say is what you get". There is a place for telling positive confessions to God, but it is after you have poured out everything to Jesus. You will feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit after you tell it all to Jesus. Some guys don't want their family to worry so they keep all their worries to themselves. The colon in our digestive system is a dumping ground of waste and all these trapped and suppressed worries cause digestive system problems. In general, ladies are more excited and expressive than men. When they have troubles they just pick up the phone and pour out all the poisonous emotions. Whereas men keep it to themselves. That's probably why generally men die younger than women. Talking to God and telling him your worries is the same as casting your cares upon Jesus. Husbands, sometimes your wife wants your shoulder more than your advice. In those situations, don't feel like you need to share your wisdom or advice with her. Just be a listening ear to let her release her poisonous emotions out of her system. It is possible to have perfect Bible knowledge and to be anti-Christ at the same time. Acts 16:6-7 - The Holy Spirit leads us more by the red light than by the green light. Our natural habitat is the green light - peace. The Great Commission: Jesus commanded us to go out into all the world and preach the gospel. It doesn't mean that we need to go everywhere to preach the gospel - The Holy Spirit will lead you to your Great Commission - He will lead you where you need to go. Why would the Holy Spirit forbid someone from going somewhere to preach the word? It is because the Holy Spirit knows if a group of people is ready to receive the word or not. He knows whether it will be productive or wasted time. God cannot guide a parked car. The Holy Spirit bears witness when we take a step. An action must be done. Rest is not inactivity. Rest is Holy Spirit-directed activity. When you follow the Holy Spirit, there is a rhythm of grace. “Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.” (Acts 16:6-7 NKJV) Do not depend on anything outside when making a decision (for example: "Thinking that if I see a shooting star flash across the sky, it means that I should marry this person). Don't ask God for a sign outside. Follow the Holy Spirit that lives in you, inside. The Holy Spirit always leads us into paths of refreshing and rest. II Timothy 1:6-7 - One way to become sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit is by praying in tongues. "Stir up" means "to fan into flame". "Gift" is "charisma" which means "grace gift". The only gift out of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit that you can activate at will is the gift of praying in tongues. When you pray in tongues, you stir up these three rivers: Power, love and a sound mind. "Sound" in "sound mind" is "Sophronismos" in Greek which means "to save". It literally means to save your mind, and even your heart. “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:6-7 NKJV) There was an incident reported in the news before where a child was pinned down by a truck and the child's mother had the strength to lift up the truck to let the child be rescued. It is due to the adrenal glands producing adrenaline, causing increased strength, stamina, improved vision, and other enhancements. It is just a temporary fight-or-flight response by the body. Our stress barometer jumps up to 10 out of 10 in times like this - high stress is not where we stay most of the time. For most people, most of the time when they are relaxed their stress barometer is around 5. They are never really at rest. All the ways of the world cannot provide the true rest and de-stressing that God can give. Isaiah 30:15 - Our stress barometer should be at quietness and confidence by default. God operates in quietness and confidence. “For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not,” (Isaiah 30:15 NKJV) The devil always wants to push you to make a decision now. Jesus in His three and a half years of ministry accomplished more than what others would take a lifetime to accomplish. No one is more busy than Jesus. But never is anyone more restful and calm than Jesus. Jesus moves in the rhythm of grace. Look at this episode: Jesus was sleeping on the boat because He was tired from ministering to the multitudes, and the disciples woke Him up, and He calmed the storm. He then delivered the demoniac from demons, and raised Jairus' daughter from the dead. Ecclesiastes 9:11 - God meant for us to learn from animals. God designed us to live relaxed like camels and tortoises, not like leopards and lions who rush around - live at the rhythm of rest. Lions and leopards have swollen adrenal glands. Tortoises live long lives. God can place you at the right place and the right time. "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all." (Ecclesiastes 9:11, NKJV) I hope that you have been blessed by reading this post on "26 February 2017 - The Holy Spirit is Jesus Unlimited! - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online".
