24 April 2016 - When God Comes To Visit - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineWe need to be a channel, a branch that is connected to the Living Vine, to be a blessing to the nations. Like the city of Nineveh in Jonah's time, the nations don't know their right hand from their left. If God has given you influence, don't use your influence to bring haters up. Just ignore them. The devil will keep coming against grace, saying that it is a license to sin, but we shouldn't care about what he says. Just keep preaching the gospel. Always believe the best of your brother or sister in Christ, don't assume the worst unless proven otherwise. Exodus 10:23 - Egypt was in deep supernatural darkness. This "light" in this verse is referring to supernatural light, and not the kind of physical light that can be produced by lighting a torch (if not the Egyptians could have produced light in their dwellings too). “They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” (Exodus 10:23 NKJV) All believers are righteous in God's eyes. We are justified by faith. Don't focus on your victory over Satan, focus on Jesus! God appeared to Moses in a burning bush. The fire represents suffering and torment. God appeared in the same nature that the children of Israel were experiencing. God is with us all the time. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Make sure you are hearing the word of God, and that it is Jesus-centered. Spend time in rich fellowship with the Lord. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he won't depart from it. The words "way he should go" and "depart from it" are the words for mouth and taste. As a parent, feed your child the things of God even if he/she resists them. There are some guys who even when they are forty years old still love and prefer their mum's cooking. Your persistence will cause your children not to depart from the things of God when they grow up. Genesis 18:1-33 - Abraham was sitting in the heat of the day. When you are under pressure, pray and talk about it to the Lord, then sit and wait for the Lord. Mamre is in Hebron. Mamre is "fatness". Hebron is "fellowship". Together: The fatness of fellowship. The devil doesn't want you to have communion with the One with whom nothing is impossible. "Bowed himself to the ground" is translated as the Hebrew word "Shakar", which means worship. This is the first occurrence of the word "worship". Jesus is the Lord that appeared to Abraham. Jesus appeared like a man - this was before He was born as a Man - at this point, He was all God and not Man. Abraham was ninety-nine years old and yet he was able to run to meet the Lord. His strength and youth was renewed. When we see the Lord, we will run! Like how Abraham told Sarah to make cakes without telling her the reason for doing so, sometimes we have to say yes, do it first, and discuss it later. Three measures of fine meal represents the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the bodily representation of all three. If you want to have fat and juicy fellowship with the Lord, always talk to Him about His Son and what He has done. Some self-professed Christians believe in abstaining from butter and meat. The Lord ate milk, butter and meat. Don't let your child become an idol and tear yourself up over him/her. Don't let your duties in marriage make you forget that you're supposed to enjoy your marriage - after your children are grown up, the one who will spend the rest of your life with you is your spouse. There is no word for "husband" or "wife" in the Bible, only "man" and "woman". That keeps the attraction between husband and wife. Sarah called Abraham "my lord" in her heart. She had so much respect for Abraham. God's love for us will cause us to have our family and household to be put into divine order. Despite Abraham's dwelling being near Sodom (Sodom was like in his backyard), God still visited him, and God still delivered miracles to him and his family (Sarah at ninety years old would bear a child). Despite the world around you being in deep darkness, there can still be light in your dwelling! * Remaining verses about God, Abraham, Sodom and Gomorrah will be elaborated on in next week's Pastor Joseph Prince sermon! “Then the LORD appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.” So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate. Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.” And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” And the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!” Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD. And Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” So the LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.” Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” So He said, “If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it. ” And he spoke to Him yet again and said, “Suppose there should be forty found there?” So He said, “I will not do it for the sake of forty.” Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?” So He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.” And he said, “Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?” So He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.” Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.” So the LORD went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.” (Genesis 18:1-33 NKJV) Genesis 19:1 - Lot was sitting as a leader in the world that was heading towards destruction. “Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.” (Genesis 19:1 NKJV) The one thousand years of Millennial rule by Jesus on earth will put to end all the complaints that man has against God (For example: "We can't see God." - At that time, everyone will see Jesus face-to-face). It is a literal thousand years, not figurative. In that time, there will still be people rebelling against God. After the thousand years, Satan who will be in captivity in that time of peace on earth will be released, and he will draw people to him to make war against God. ![]()

One of the best things about Christian living is that we can live life without being limited by the things of the world. Ladies, you can be beautiful even without having to use the things of the world. It is ok to use makeup and as much of it as you want. Even an old barn will look good if it is painted (it's Pastor Prince's joke :) )! Faith doesn't work by feeling. Show God your faith, and He will give you your strength! For example: If you're feeling pain in your body but you need to stand up and walk somewhere to get something, trust God and say "I trust in you Lord for strength in my body in Jesus' name, Amen", and stand up and walk believing that you have indeed received the strength. 1 Peter 3:4-6 - The secret of Sarah's youth and beauty: A woman's incorruptible beauty comes from having a kind and gentle spirit, trusting God, and subjecting herself to the authority of her husband. To trust God means that you are not afraid that your husband will terrorise you when you subject yourself to his authority. A woman is not less than her husband. Different roles doesn't mean inequality. “rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.” (I Peter 3:4-6 NKJV) In the Garden of Eden, Adam was there when the serpent was talking to Eve, but Adam did not say anything. The whole world fell because a man failed to perform his leadership role. Meditation on God's word brings revelation. Luke 15:11-32 - In the parable of the prodigal son, the father represents God the Father. The father had a rebellious son who left home; and the older son was self-righteous. Despite being a good father, his success rate as a father was 0%. Sometimes your child has to go through the pig pen as a consequence of their decisions, and the pig pen can be good for them. In the end, the younger son came back home. When he came home and experienced the father's grace, he had a greater revelation of his father. If you feel distant from or your child has left you, be encouraged and keep believing, because your son or daughter will come home. “Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. ’ So he divided to them his livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’ “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’ “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’ “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’ ”” (Luke 15:11-32 NKJV) ![]()
