26 April 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Abide as a Branch and Receive Supply from the Living VineIn the Bible, Jesus did not ask anyone He directly impacted to tell a financial testimony. However, there are many testimonies of healings, signs and wonders. For New Creation Church - In 5 years, there were 4 "Miracle Seed Sundays". The Star Vista is 90% paid off and the remaining 10% will be paid off by this year. It is thanks to favor from the Lord, not about human strategies. Give what God puts on your heart. Not more, not less. If you don't hear from Him, don't feel condemned. One day you will be asked to give. John 15:1-14 - This is part of the Upper Room Discourse which is addressing the Church. The miraculous signs in the Book of John are aimed at the nation of Israel. In the Old Testament, Israel was a type of vine. As believers, we are branches connected to the True Vine which is our Lord Jesus Christ. The vine and branches are one. We are not the supplier. We are the ones to bear the fruit. All we have to do is to abide in Christ. Abide means to stay where we are as a branch. The right attitude as a branch is to be relaxed and carefree. The vinedresser, God, will not hold the branch (us) responsible for the quality of fruits that are produced because it is up to the vine (Jesus) to supply them. When we are connected to the vine, we will not be lazy. We will have a holy zeal, and we will produce without burning out. What is done for Christ will last forever. It has eternal value and permanency. On earth people run for gold, while in heaven they walk on it. Heaven's economy is different from that of earth. Everything we do as a believer connected to the Living Vine is righteous - there is no menial task. Prayer is a realisation of what you already are in Christ. "Takes away" is "airo - lifts up". Branches need to be lifted up from the ground in order for them to bear fruit. God lifts us who don't bear fruit up, so that we can bear fruit. "Takes away" is not talking about taking people home to be with the Lord if they don't bear fruit for God. A sermon from God should lift you up, not throw you down in the dust. As the vine is growing, it takes about 3 years for the vine to grow a strong root system and a wide network of branches, for it to be ready to bear grapes. "Prunes" is "kathairo- cleanses" which means to wash the branches with water so that they can bear fruit. "Clean" is "katharos". The more you sit under anointed teaching that washes you, the more fruit you will bear. "“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you." (John 15:1-14 NKJV) Psalm 80:8 - In the Old Testament, Israel is referred to as a vine. "You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it." (Psalms 80:8 NKJV) 1 Corinthians 1:30 - We are put in Christ once we place our trust in Him as our Lord and Savior. "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—" (I Corinthians 1:30 NKJV) Galatians 5:4 - When you try to justify yourself by the Law and self-efforts, you will fall from higher ground, which is grace. Grace is higher than Law. This verse is not saying that you can lose your salvation. It means, the more you struggle, you are hindering the supply of grace (all that Christ could be to you). The sinners could receive freely from Jesus, but the only people who couldn't receive from Him were the self-righteous Pharisees who tried to justify themselves by the Law. "You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace." (Galatians 5:4 NKJV) The Christian life is not a life of feeling, it's a life of faith! Feelings can be deceiving - the devil wants you to be in the realm of feelings. God wants you to be in the realm of faith. Faith says that you are always connected to the same fatness of the living vine, Jesus. Rest and let the supply flow. You either believe or you don't. There is no trying to believe. Most people place more trust in the pilot flying a plane than in God Himself. We must have trust in God and live a life of gusto instead of a life of fear. A thousand may fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, but it does not come near us. Don't listen to the devil who tries to point you to other people who suffered - he just wants to keep you in fear. When you compare God with any problem, the problems lose. With God, all things are possible! About sickness, many times the devil gives us lying symptoms. As you go in faith, you will be healed. To be healed, move in faith and act as if you are already healed. 1 John 4:17 - As the glorified, risen and enthroned Christ is now, so are we right now, in this world, on earth! There is no sickness in heaven. Jesus is using His status and power for us - it is all in our interest. Declare: "As He is, so are we in this world!" "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." (I John 4:17 NKJV) God wants us to preach at His standard so that He can lift the people up. John 13:10 - We are bathed when we are saved in Christ. We cannot be bathed again. We only need to wash our feet. We need to wash our feet by getting into the Word daily, so that we can bear more fruit. "Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.”" (John 13:10 NKJV) Isaiah 40:28-31 - Study the word "strength" in the Bible. Infirmity is due to the lack of strength. Aging is also due to the lack of strength. "Wait" is "qavah- bind together, hope". It is the same concept of the vine and the branches always being connected. "Hope" in the Bible is not a maybe like it is used in the English language - it is a certainty that God will supply. When we spend time with the Lord daily in His word, we will soar in the heavenlies with God first, then we will run and walk and not be weary or faint. "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV) The more you let go, God holds. The more you try to hold, He lets go. Joshua 14:10-13 - The Lord is the One who keeps us alive. We can be fit and yet not healthy. Health comes from the Lord. Caleb didn't grow old. He said this when he was 85 years old and he compared himself to when he was 40 years old. This is a literal renewal of youth. Caleb went on to defeat the Anakim (the giants) and claim the mountain of Hebron as an inheritance. Don't accept the lies of the devil, never declare or believe that you are growing old. Reject them in Jesus's name. "And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance." (Joshua 14:10-13 NKJV) For women- Don't be given in to fears and you will be a daughter of Sarah. Sarah is the only woman mentioned in the Bible who had her youth renewed and her menopause reversed.
