10 Jan 2016 - Fight to Hold Your Peace, Feed to Possess Your Possessions - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineGod is the Maker of good days. Good days is always plural. When it comes to trials, the Bible says "stand in the evil day". That means that good days are plentiful but evil days are few and far between. The world is getting darker and darker. It is actually good news for the church. The church will get brighter and brighter as the world gets darker. The glory of the Lord Jesus will be even more visible in His people. In 2016 there will be more incidents of weather going berserk. Pastor Joseph Prince received three words that prophesy what will happen this year: blood, fire and flood. He believes it refers to physical bloodshed, fire and flooding and not a spiritual interpretation. The Bible says that our God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. On this side of heaven, we can receive everything that Jesus died to give us. The only thing we are waiting for is our new spiritual bodies that will come during the Rapture. The Rapture will happen so quickly, and Hollywood will say that it was due to alien abduction, etc. The first thing that will happen during the Rapture is that we will receive our new spiritual bodies that will last forever and never grow old. The Bible says that Israel would be scattered to the four corners of the earth until they are brought back together. In AD70, Jerusalem was invaded and the Second Temple was destroyed. Every generation believes that they are the end-time generation. But Jerusalem has to be under the foot of the Gentiles first (Jerusalem was under the rule of the Romans, and other empires), and be back in their land first before the Rapture can happen. In the 6 Day War in 1967, although Jerusalem was surrounded and outnumbered, God gave them the victory in 6 days. Now we see that Jerusalem is back in the hand of the Jews. We have seen two world wars and huge increase in frequency of earthquakes. We are the end-times generation! Jesus said don't look down but look up, because redemption is near! Grapes and wine represents joy. Now in Israel there are huge clusters of grapes that are growing. Through this, God is saying that the pleasures of His land is bigger and greater than all the lands of Egypt (the world). The joys of God far surpasses what the world can provide. The joys and pleasures that the world provides are just perversions of what God has created. God says that everywhere that you tread upon, you will take possession of it. Step by step, you will possess your possessions. Pastor Prince shared a testimony of how someone possessed her healing: This woman's husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer. They checked up on what God's word said about healing and they purchased Pastor Prince's resources and watched two regularly called "Condemnation Kills" and "Health and Wholeness Through the Holy Communion". They partook of Holy Communion regularly. After 3 years, the huge tumor that was the size of an orange fell off the husband's body. Remember that at Kardesh Barnea everything changed for the children of Israel. The children of Israel spent 40 years in the wilderness. They walked for 2 years with God, and after Kardesh Barnea, they wandered in the wilderness for 38 years. The name "Egypt" in Hebrew means "double straits / stress". God wanted to bring His people into a big, fruitful land. The devil and his cohorts (in this case, the children of Anak - the giants [Anakim] ) are occupying the promised land even though they had no right to the land. Pray for the devil and his demons to be evicted from the squatters that they have set up in your promised land - your healing, your provision, your relationships, etc. Christian life is easy. The fruits of Canaan grow on trees, right within reach and are easy to be picked. The fruits of Egypt grow on the ground and are difficult to be picked - you have to bend your back to pick them up. Jesus says "My yoke is easy and My burden is light." The Bible says instead that "the way of transgressors is hard". God wants you to be well and to live a life of rest. Be conscious of God's heart for you, not the size or strength of your enemies.
Numbers 14:6-10 - God wants you to see all the problems and difficulties in your life as food to feed your faith. God was pleased with Joshua and Caleb. Only both of them entered the land. It's weird that when pastors preach fire and brimstone, people say that they are men of God. On the other hand, when pastors preach that God is no longer angry with them and that they are totally forgiven, people 'stone' them with angry emails, criticism, etc. “But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.” And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.” (Numbers 14:6-10 NKJV) Numbers 14:22-24 - Most of the children of Israel believed and spoke that they would die in the wilderness, therefore as they have believed and spoke, they died in the wilderness. However, Caleb had a spirit of faith. He believed in God. “because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice, they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it. But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.” (Numbers 14:22-24 NKJV) II Corinthians 4:13 - The spirit of faith is to believe first and then speak. Not the other way around. “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,” (II Corinthians 4:13 NKJV) Joshua 14:7-15 - At 85 years old, Caleb was still as physically strong (he was still strong and fit to fight a war) as when he was 40 years old. The moment he believed God, Caleb stopped growing old! God can also keep you young. The Anakim are the giants. The greatest of the giants lived in Hebron - the land that Caleb conquered! Caleb was a man under the Law, and we are under the blood of Jesus! We can have even more confidence in God for the renewal of our strength and youth. “I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’ And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba ( Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war.” (Joshua 14:7-15 NKJV) Faith is having a good opinion of God. When God tells you to do something, it's for your good. He doesn't need you to make Him richer - He's already rich! God delights in a person who can believe and speak words of faith even when the conditions around him/her seem gloomy. Enemies that look big in our eyes, when they are measured with God, they are puny! In the ten plagues of Egypt, one of the first plagues was the plague of frogs. The frogs jumped out of the river and water bodies. When Moses asked the Pharaoh when he wanted the frogs to be gone, Pharaoh said "tomorrow". That's the lowly level of the wisdom of the world. The third plague was the plague of lice. Moses struck his rod and all the dust turned into lice. Blood-sucking lice was everywhere! Why did God choose to plague Egypt with lice? God wanted to prove that Pharaoh's magicians can't produce life. The devil cannot produce life - he can only take life. Only God can make dust into life. In the natural, life degenerates into dust. Only God can give life! The Pharaoh's magicians can't even reproduce the smallest of animals. II Corinthians 4:17-18 - The trials that we go through will cause us to enjoy a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (kavod). The things which can be seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal! When we see a blessed person, what we can see are the effects of the blessing. The blessing is eternal. Satan is a spirit. Demons are spirits. Spirits are eternal. Hell was prepared for the devil. People who reject Jesus follow the devil into hell, but hell was never created for man. The world says that the invisible things are not real. We must get out of the realm where we rely and trust in things that can be seen. Instead, we must enter the realm of the unseen. Learn to live in the realm of the invisible. Don't believe in the devil's attempts to sway you with what is visible. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (II Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV) Hebrews 3:7-13 - Don't be like the unbelieving children of Israel in the wilderness. If you don't rest, you'll always be working. The opposite of God's wrath is His rest. The promised land today is not a physical land, but it is an unseen land of rest. The sin here is the specific sin of unbelief in God. Thanks to social media like Instagram and communication apps like WhatsApp, we can be exhorted daily with the word of God. “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ” Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” (Hebrews 3:7-13 NKJV) Hebrews 3:17-4:3 - This is the only place in the Bible where God tell us to fear. Fear that you come short of entering God's rest. When we listen to God's word, we must mix it with faith for it to profit us. God does not take our time - He gives time. We take time. When we listen to God, our life will be easy. “Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Hebrews 3:17-4:3 NKJV) "Lechem" (which means bread / feed) and "Lacham" (which means fight) - they are the same Hebrew word - when you feed, you are fighting. When you feed on God's word, you are fighting the enemy. When you feed on God's word, God defeats your enemies for you. In Psalms 23, it says that God prepares a table for you in the presence of your enemies. When you feed even in the presence of your enemies, God will fight your enemies. I Timothy 6:12 - This verse can also be translated as - Fight the beautiful fight of faith. Fight to remain in faith. “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (I Timothy 6:12 NKJV)
I Samuel 17:42-47 - God's people are good-looking! They either are good-looking or they become good-looking! Good looks is something that you should possess as your possession this year! Pastor Prince gave us 5 words of grace to use this year - When faced with a difficulty, mutter this under your breath or speak this: "The battle is the Lord's." David fought Goliath dressed as a shepherd boy, not decked in armor. He used a sling as a weapon, not a sword. Obviously he believed that the battle belonged to the Lord. “And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. So the Philistine said to David, “ Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”” (I Samuel 17:42-47 NKJV) The devil is trying to take your healing. He is trying to bluff you that you are not healed. You are already healed. It may take some time to get to the place called "healed", but stay in faith. Goliath was buried at the place called "Gol Goliath". The name of the place was perverted to become "Golgotha", and at this place, a greater Son of David, Jesus, destroyed another enemy - the devil. II Chronicles 20:15 - The battle is not yours - it is God's. Your flesh will ask you to worry when you're going through a trial. But by staying in faith and in rest, you will gain the victory. “And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (II Chronicles 20:15 NKJV) The word "complain" is the Hebrew word "lun", which means "one more night". If you complain, you remain one more night in that situation. If you complain, you remain. If you praise, you get a raise. Praise and be raised! Pastor Prince shared a testimony of a man who was delivered from addiction to smoking cigarettes after 50 years of smoking cigarettes. By resting in Jesus, believing that Jesus has already won the battle for him at the cross, and receiving His grace, he was restfully delivered from addiction to smoking cigarettes. By not fighting, he was actually fighting! II Chronicles 20:17 - Position yourself, stand still and see Jesus! That's how you rest and receive the victory. The battle is the Lord's. “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”” (II Chronicles 20:17 NKJV) Exodus 14:13-14 - Again, stand still and see Jesus! If you feel tempted to do something or say something to 'help' God, HOLD your peace! The Lord will fight for you. God must get all the glory, He won't share it. (Said respectfully) If God must get all the glory, we must let Him do all the work! “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”” (Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV) John 21:15 - The gospel of John is the highest gospel. It portrays Jesus as God, who is not begotten, but who existed since the beginning of the world. It is the gospel of the Eagle. The gospel of John ends with Jesus preparing breakfast for His disciples. Jesus feeds His people before placing a demand upon them. A pastor's ministry is to feed God's people, not to beat them. “So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”” (John 21:15 NKJV) Jesus fed His disciples before the storm. To prepare you, He will feed you. Feeding is possessing, feeding is fighting. If you fight, God will hold His peace. If you hold your peace, God will fight for you. Don't take your protection for granted. You must possess your possession of protection. Just because you attend New Creation Church, it doesn't mean that you are automatically protected because of that. Pray for protection.
