16 April 2017 - Resurrection Sunday 2017: The Battle of the Ages - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineThere is no duplicate person because God specializes in uniqueness. Jesus rose without our sins - He took our place and became liable for our sins. But a few days later, He rose again with that same body without our sins. Where are all our sins? Gone! It was a clean sweep! To faith it's gone, to experience it's not. Walk according to God's reality and perspective, not your own. God sees you as cleared of sin and sickness. Jesus rose for our forgiveness, salvation and wholeness! The synoptic gospels talk about the Holy Communion. The first communion was established when Melchizedek led Abraham in communion. Melchizedek is the pre-incarnate Christ. His name means "King of Righteousness". When you partake of Holy communion and you are being sin conscious, you are partaking unworthily. To partake worthily, be conscious that you are righteous and that sin cannot be imputed to you. Why is the bread broken for you? For you to be strong, healthy and to live long. SURELY Jesus has borne our diseases. When believers lift up the bread and the cup for communion, the powers of darkness tremble. When you partake of the Holy communion, do so with expectation of your deliverance from your problems. If you have a problem with the word "wealth", then you'll have a problem in heaven because you'll be walking on gold. The gospel of grace and peace produces health and prosperity so that you can be a blessing to many. God wants His people well and well-supplied! Why did Jesus rise from the dead? One of the reasons people say is to conquer Death. Death is but the consequence of our sin. God never meant for man to die. His love plan was for man to live forever young, healthy and whole. God hates sin and death. He counts Death as an enemy. Death is the final vindication of God's truth. All political-correctness and arguments end when a person dies. You hate cancer to the same proportion as your love your loved one who has it. Why does God hate sin? Because He loves you. If you admit that you are a sinner, Jesus can be your Savior. If you don't believe that you are a sinner, then He cannot be your Savior. Romans 4:24-25 - God exerted His greatest power to raise Jesus from the dead. That same power is in us because Jesus dwells in us. All that dwells in the Adam-nature has been removed at the cross. Jesus divested us of it. Disease is not part of God's nature or plan. The resurrection of Jesus invests into us His great power. When God raised Jesus from the dead, He also raised us from the dead! All sickness, curse, weakness etc was left behind at the cross. “but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.” (Romans 4:24-25 NKJV) There are two circles: the Circle of Darkness and the Circle of Light. Jesus became the centre of the Circle of Darkness. He wasn't there for Himself. He has no sins of His own to die for. He went to the cross for you and I to pay for our sins. Peter, a man of action said Jesus did no sin. Paul, a man of knowledge said He knew no sin. John, a man of love said in Him was no sin. Jesus is also at the centre of the Circle of Light. Jesus was not raised so that we could become righteous. We became righteous when Jesus died on the cross. Jesus rose from the dead BECAUSE we are declared righteous - How will you know that you have been acquitted of all your sins? When the One who serves your sentence comes out from prison! Jesus rising from the dead is a declaration that YOU ARE ACQUITTED! We should have this attitude that we are dead to sin. You are someone that cannot be charged with sin once you are a believer. God cannot stop Adam from sinning because He gave man the gift of free will. If God used His power to stop Adam, that means that there is still manipulation and that you are just a robot. Bad things happen in the world because the world is fallen. I Corinthians 15:17 - Jesus was not risen from the dead because He is God's Son. That He always is. He was raised to declare that we are righteous! The resurrection of Jesus is not the payment. It is the receipt that proves that we are righteous! The devil and the Law cannot accuse you anymore. God has to forgive sins righteously. If God just forgives us by mercy, then where is His righteousness? He has to forgive us righteously. If God is unrighteous and He doesn't punish sin, then the whole universe will collapse. The opposite of the verse below is true: Christ is risen, your faith is energized, and you are no longer in your sins! “And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!” (I Corinthians 15:17 NKJV) The devil was called "Lucifer" before he fell and He was an archangel. Michael was not a warring archangel. Gabriel was not a messenger archangel. All the three archangels Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer were worship archangels - In the beginning there was nothing to fight because it was perfect. There are three archangels - God creates many things in threes. Ezekiel 28:13-15 - Lucifer was created with wealth (precious gems and jewels of all kinds) and musical instruments built into him. The Ark of the Covenant was built with two cherubs. The cherubs are guardians of God's righteousness. Lucifer was a guardian of God's righteousness. “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.” (Ezekiel 28:13-15 NKJV) Genesis 3:24 - The cherubs are custodians of God's holiness. “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” (Genesis 3:24 NKJV) The Ten Commandments are in the Ark of the Covenant - they represent man's rebellion to God. Once a year, on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), blood is sprinkled onto the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant and the eyes of the cherubs which represent God's eyes, cannot see man's rebellion. There is only one thing that God's eyes cannot look through: the blood of His Son. John 20:12 - Mary saw the real Ark of the Covenant. “And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.” (John 20:12 NKJV) Job 1:6-8 - Although the devil is fallen, in some perverted way he still believes that he is a guardian of God's righteousness. The devil's work is done in places where God's Law is upheld instead of the cross of Jesus Christ. The devil knows that the strength of sin is the Law. He will tell you that you can keep the Law. The lower demons tempt people to do obvious sins. But the higher demons are the religious demons. “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”” (Job 1:6-8 NKJV) Psalm 89:14 - God loves mercy and truth, but God's throne is established by righteousness. The devil's evil plan is to cause God to compromise His righteousness by causing man whom He loves to fail Him. The devil hoped that God would somehow compromise His righteousness in order to save man. He believed that if that happened, God's throne would go to the next one in line for the throne, and that he would be the one to usurp God's throne. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.” (Psalms 89:14 NKJV) Daniel 6:7-16 - King Darius loved Daniel the most out of all the governors. When the satrap said "all" the governors, King Darius thought that Daniel was part of the plan as well, and that's why he approved it. Despite the written decree being in place, Daniel still prayed. In this story, King Darius represents God, Daniel represents us, and the satraps represent the devil and his cohorts. Here in this part of the story, we see that the love of the king was powerless against the law. “All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” Therefore King Darius signed the written decree. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” So they answered and said before the king, “That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.” And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed.” So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”” (Daniel 6:7-16 NKJV) John 8:3-12 - The Pharisees were not so much interested in upholding God's Law, if not they would have stoned the woman where she was caught. No, their purpose was to catch Jesus doing something that compromised God's Law. The devil is not so much interested in attacking us as compared to attack God's throne. The devil's purpose is to put God in a dilemma, to see how He can be righteous and yet be merciful. Jesus was not pressured by the Pharisees' repeated questioning. Jesus stooped down twice and wrote on the stony ground to show that He is the God who wrote the Law on Mount Sinai. Jesus stoops down to raise us up. Daniel wasn't guilty of the evil law approved by King Darius, but this woman caught in adultery was guilty of the perfect and Holy Law. Jesus said "Neither do I condemn you" because He was on the way to pay for the woman's sins at the cross. In the incident of King Darius and Daniel, we see love powerless against the law. Here in this incident we see the Law powerless against love. “Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”” (John 8:3-12 NKJV) Proverbs 17:15 - "Abomination" is an intense word - The Jews say that it is equivalent to being trapped in a room with a smelly corpse of a rat that was been dead for a few days. If you are a believer and you condemn YOURSELF (who is now righteous), that's hypocrisy and it's an abomination to the Lord. If you are not saved and you think you are righteous, that is also hypocrisy and is also an abomination to the Lord. “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” (Proverbs 17:15 NKJV) Romans 5:17 - Righteousness is a GIFT. We need an abundance of GRACE. The devil comes strongly against this teaching because he wants to stop us from reigning in life. “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)” (Romans 5:17 NKJV) Resurrection Sunday 2017 - God loves mercy and truth, but God's throne is established by righteousness. The devil's evil plan is to cause God to compromise His righteousness by causing man whom He loves to fail Him. The devil hoped that God would somehow compromise His righteousness in order to save man. Under the Old Covenant there is a law that says that if you had leprosy but it only covered your arms and/or forehead, you would be declared unclean and you would have to be isolated from the camp. Whereas if you had leprosy all over your body, the priest would declare you clean. What it symbolises is this: When you believe that you are a sinner through and through, then God will say to you "No problem, I'm your Savior!". But if you believe that you are not all that bad, and that your flesh is not so bad, then Jesus cannot be your Savior. The cross changes everything. God is righteous in making us righteous! He didn't compromise His righteousness. On the night of the Passover, when God saw the blood, He caused the Angel of Death to pass over that household. It's not when the angel sees the family's good works, it's when it sees the blood! If an Israelite said to himself "I reject all guilt, and God loves me, he won't judge me.", that's false peace because it's on the wrong premise. When he wakes in the morning he will still cry his eyeballs out because his son will die. He believed in the love of God without the sacrifice. If another Israelite and his son are in their house and they have the blood on their doorpost, the son won't die, even if they spent the night huddled together in fear. They worried needlessly. They have peace with God but they are not possessing that peace. Many believers go through life feeling depressed and afraid because they aren't established in this truth: The blood gives us the security. The word saying "I will pass over you" gives us the assurance. Isaiah 54:13-14 - It doesn't say that you will teach your children. It says that your children will be taught directly by the Lord. Great will be the shalom of your children. Don't just focus on your kids. Focus on your walk with God - are you established in the truth that you are the righteousness of God in Christ? We live in a world of terror, but when we are established in righteousness, no terror will come near us. “All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.” (Isaiah 54:13-14 NKJV) Isaiah 54:17 - Weapons will be formed against you, but they shall not prosper. “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17 NKJV) Matthew 6:31-33 - Seek first Jesus' righteousness and all the lower needs in life will be ADDED to you. God doesn't see us as outside of Jesus. Jesus is the measure of our righteousness. We are as righteous as Jesus. To say otherwise is an abomination. If you put the primary thing as the primary thing, you will get the secondary benefit too. If you put the secondary benefit as the primary thing, you will lose both. Seek intensely to be righteousness-conscious everyday. It doesn't mean that tongues won't rise against you saying evil things, but they will not succeed against you. ““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33 NKJV) I hope that you have been blessed by reading this post on "16 April 2017 - Resurrection Sunday 2017: The Battle of the Ages - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online".
