28 August 2016 - The Way of Escape From Your Trials - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineYou cannot reason your way out of fear. You cannot psyche yourself out of depression. But you can listen your way out of fear by listening to God's word. We are either going into a trial or coming out of a trial. On this side of heaven, there are trials. Because you obey God, people will make fun of you, persecute you, etc. However we should not be suffering what Jesus already suffered for us at the cross - examples are sickness and disease. We will never be able to truly fathom what Jesus did for us at the cross. Religion is about doing our very best. It's something that man creates. Reality is what God makes. Christianity is not a religion - it is a reality and a relationship - God came to die for our sins! The worst sin in God's eyes is man trying to earn his own righteousness. If Jesus didn't come down to earth to die for us, we would never be able to go up to heaven. I Corinthians 10:13 - The word "temptation" in the verse is the Greek word "peirasmos" which means trial/ temptation or solicitation to sin. Faith is the currency of heaven. Sometimes we think too much of faith that it becomes a work. If we look at faith at itself, it becomes a work. The more we focus on God's faithfulness, the faith will be there. God will always make THE way of escape. It is not a way of escape. "The" is a definite article. The word "escape" is the Greek word "ekbasis" which means "the escape". The words "bear it" is the Greek word "hupophero" which means "an undercurrent of a river, carrying one away safely away from danger." “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV) I Corinthians 10:13-17 - "The escape" is the Holy Communion - the Lord's Supper - the Eucharist. The word "communion" is the Greek word "koinonia" which means fellowship, association and intimate participation. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.” (I Corinthians 10:13-17 NKJV) I Corinthians 10:7 - This verse is talking about the children of Israel eating, drinking, engaging in orgies in front of the golden calf at the foot of Mount Sinai. We must partake of the Holy Communion in the right way. "And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”” (I Corinthians 10:7 NKJV) Just because someone takes communion doesn't mean that they get the benefits of communion. You can draw a blood-line of the Blood of Jesus around physical areas, in the spirit - no demons, pests etc can cross the line. Testimonies were shared of wolves and bees dropping dead when they tried to cross the line. I Corinthians 11:29-30 - Because many believers don't discern the Lord's body, they are weak and sick and die early. "Discern" is "diakrino" in Greek, which means "to make a difference". The bread represents the broken body of Jesus which is for our healing, and the cup represents the shed blood of Jesus which is for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus conquered death at the cross and the sting of death is gone for believers. When believers die, it's like falling asleep and then waking up in heaven. “For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” (I Corinthians 11:29-30 NKJV) The church is supposed to walk in divine health, not divine healing - healing presupposes existing sickness. God is "I AM" - He is offering us a blank cheque - He can meet any of our needs. Jesus was not killed or murdered against His will. Jesus laid down His life for us. When the soldiers were looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus said "I AM" and all of them fell to the ground. That's power! At the cross, Jesus took all of the bad that we deserved, and we receive all of the good that we do not deserve. That's Christianity - it's not a religion, it's reality! I Peter 2:24 - Pontius Pilate commanded that Jesus be beaten so as to draw sympathy from the angry mob. His intention was to spare Jesus' life. However, this was God's divine plan. "Stripes" should be stripe because Jesus was whipped so badly that there was no sliver of skin left on His back. By His STRIPE we were healed. “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.” (I Peter 2:24 NKJV) I Corinthians 10:16-18 - The "body of Christ" is referring to us partaking of Jesus' physical body, not referring to the church. The altar, because of its four corners represents the cross. The lamb's breast (the sacrifices) represents God's love. The whole context of these verses is talking about communion. “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread. Observe Israel after the flesh: Are not those who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?” (I Corinthians 10:16-18 NKJV) Isaiah 53:4-5 - The word "griefs" is "choli" in Hebrew which means physical sicknesses. The word "sorrows" is "makob" which means physical pains. The word "chastisement" means punishment. The punishment fell upon Jesus. Because He took our punishment, we won't receive it. The word "stripes" is the Hebrew word "chavurah" which also means fellowship and association - we come into fellowship with Jesus through partaking of the Holy Communion. “Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5 NKJV) Matthew 8:16-17 - This is referring to Jesus healing physical sicknesses. This proves that Isaiah 53:4 is referring to physical sickness. “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”” (Matthew 8:16-17 NKJV) There's no way that the devil will point you to Jesus. That's the Holy Spirit's job. How do you tell whether a ministry is of God? See if it points people to themselves, or if it points people to Jesus. Pastor Prince's ministry points people to Jesus!
Luke 24:30-31 - On the first day of His resurrection, Jesus restored what the first couple (Adam and Eve) lost through eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam and Eve partook of the wrong tree. Holy Communion is the Tree of Life. Jesus appeared to a couple, Cleopas and his wife. He veiled His identity from them because He wanted them to see Him in the Scriptures. The word "knew" is "epiginosko" which means to know thoroughly. “Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.” (Luke 24:30-31 NKJV) Luke 24:35-36 - Cleopas and his wife walked 14 miles in a day! Something happened to their bodies when they received the revelation of Jesus. "Peace to you" is "Shalom" in Hebrew. Shalom Peace is tied up with the Holy Communion! Take communion until Jesus comes to you - take it until your healing manifests. “And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread. Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”” (Luke 24:35-36 NKJV) Health and healing through partaking of the Holy Communion may not always happen instantaneously, but you will get better and better every time you partake. The Holy Communion is a lifestyle - a relationship with God. Does that mean you will never fall sick again if you regularly partake of the Holy Communion? No, but you will fall sick less and less, until finally you will never fall sick again. Don't rely on your feelings. Your feelings fluctuate and are not accurate all the time. Don't fly by the seat of your pants - use the instrument that you have been given. Rely on God's instrument - Rely on your new identity in Christ. Keep on confessing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are not what you feel. You are who God says you are - righteous in Christ! Never let what you don't understand rob you of the joy of what you understand. Never let obscure Bible verses interpret other obscure verses. Interpret obscure verses with sure and certain verses! Psalms 92:12-15 - The trunk of a cedar tree is incorruptible. Pests can't have their way in it. Evil spirits don't like the incorruptibility of Christ. According to God's word: Just because your age is old, doesn't mean that you are old. You will not dry up! You will be vigorous, evergreen and fresh. This is a testimony to God to declare that He is upright! “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” (Psalms 92:12-15 NKJV) Psalms 104:15-16 - When God refers to His creations, it's always for the benefit of His people. "cedars of Lebanon" refers to believers. Bread and wine refers to the Holy Communion. The oil refers to the Holy Spirit's anointing. The bread will strengthen your heart! The Holy Communion is the way to receive renewal of youth. “And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart. The trees of the LORD are full of sap, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,” (Psalms 104:15-16 NKJV) Psalms 105:37 - After the children of Israel partook of the Passover Lamb which represents the body of Jesus, there was none feeble among them - even the elderly were healthy! That was the shadow, and now we have the substance, which is the Holy Communion! “He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.” (Psalms 105:37 NKJV) I hope that you have been blessed by reading this post on "28 August 2016 - The Way of Escape From Your Trials - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online".
