9 September 2018 - Possess your Mountain of Inheritance - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

  4. Here I Bow - Brian Johnson

Home and church should be places where you can love one another without hidden motives of earning a profit.
These places should be a place of hope, refuge - an oasis of love.

When you husband comes home from work, tell him “You’re a special man, truly a man to me”.
When he thinks about you and compares you with other women, he will think “Yes this other woman may have an attractive outer shell, but can she say such lovely things like my wife?”
You will become more attractive to your husband. He needs your encouragement too.

Pastor Prince briefly mentioned about the following (which I took from Wikipedia):
"Pardes" refers to (types of) approaches to biblical exegesis in rabbinic Judaism or to interpretation of text in Torah study. The term, sometimes also spelled PaRDeS, is an acronym formed from the same initials of the following four approaches:
▪ Peshat (פְּשָׁט) – "surface" ("straight") or the literal (direct) meaning.
▪Remez (רֶמֶז) – "hints" or the deep (allegoric: hidden or symbolic) meaning beyond just the literal sense.
▪Derash (דְּרַשׁ) – from Hebrew darash: "inquire" ("seek") – the comparative (midrashic) meaning, as given through similar occurrences.
▪Sod (סוֹד) (pronounced with a long O as in 'lore') – "secret" ("mystery") or the esoteric/mystical meaning, as given through inspiration or revelation.

During Moses and Joshua’s time, a guilty person would be killed as an example to the others, to keep the others from sinning.
However today the body of Christ doesn’t do that. We operate by the principle of grace.
Don’t go to court immediately which is to seek the ways of the world.
Go to wise men in the church first for godly counsel.
There is victory and safety in a multitude of counselors. You find them in the house of God.

Individually Jesus has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
So why does He say “Where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst”?
It is because there is a special corporate anointing when believers are gathered together.
In His grace, this anointing is present with just the smallest plurality - two.

Galatians 4:1-7 - Many people see God as an authority figure who wants to arrest them for a crime.
They flee from God even though God wants to bless them.
It’s sad because there’s so much land that’s yet to be possessed. The church is not fully possessing their possessions.
The servant can drive his master’s car, but the son who is still a little child cannot drive his father’s car yet.
The word “child” in the passage is “Nepios” in Greek that means “a little, infant child”.
The Jews have a ritual called “Bar Mitzvah” where a child goes through it and is seen as an adult after that.
The Ten Commandments are the “ABCs” of Israel, not something deep or advanced.
When we become born-again believers, we are immediately made sons of God. You can figuratively “drive your father’s car”.
Jesus came to reveal this name of God: “Father”.
The Lord’s prayer is not a New Covenant prayer.
After that in the upper room, Jesus said to His disciples “up till now you have asked nothing in My name”.
What does that mean? He’s obviously talking about a different kind of prayer.
You can’t get New Covenant blessings with an Old Covenant slavish mentality.
Believers are our family. We forgive each other because we are family.
The devil doesn’t want you to learn about sonship because it’s about inheritance - he wants to continue controlling the earth.
There are two types of believers: Abraham and Lot.
Both Abraham and Lot are righteous by faith. But one was victorious and another was defeated.
When the fires came, everything that Lot had was destroyed. Whereas Abraham was high up on a safe place, and enjoyed fellowship with God.
Lot lost his wife, and in a sense his two daughters - they thought the world was ending so they slept with him to have children.
Lot was a believer who was deeply steeped in worldly things. We shouldn’t touch such things.
Don’t let your children watch or read Harry Potter things and other New Age things. They promise power but they are all empty and evil.
Don’t bring the devil’s things into your house. Not even porn - it brings strife, disharmony, chaos. You will think that it’s your spouse but it’s actually you who is the source of the evil entering your house.
Believers can’t be possessed but they can be oppressed.

“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians 4:1-7 NKJV)

Caleb's secret of possessing his inheritance

Under the Law, the Jews slice a specific vein on the neck of the animal - a humane way of killing them.
The animals go unconscious immediately, and they don’t feel the pain.
The sacrificial animal is then put on a cross to be burnt.
It is the offerer who would kill the sacrificial animal.
So why was Jesus tortured even before He went to the cross?
The pain that He suffered is not a fulfillment of any of the types in the four offerings under the Law (excluding the grain offering which doesn’t require blood).
That torture He went through is an extra, so that you may know that by His stripes, you are healed.

The gospel of Mark portrays Jesus as a Worker. That’s why this gospel is portrayed by the face of an ox.
It starts off with no genealogy or lineage. You don’t ask a servant for his pedigree.
The word “immediately” is used often. It’s always work, work, work for a servant.
The gospel ends off with Jesus “working every with signs and wonders”. Even in heaven, He is still working for our benefit.
One of Jesus’ name is “Pele” which means “Wonder”, with an idea of miraculous signs and wonders.

The gospel of Matthew is about kingship so the genealogy doesn’t go all the way back to Adam - it goes back to Abraham, the one who God made a covenant of inheritance with.

The gospel of Luke goes back to Adam, the first man, showing that Jesus is Man.

The gospel of John has no genealogy, showing that Jesus is God who came from heaven, and that His life has no beginning and no end.

Joshua 11:23 - Joshua conquered the whole land and there was no record of him conquering any more land after this.

“So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war.” (Joshua 11:23 NKJV)

Joshua 13:1 - Joshua died at 110 years old. When God said this to him, Joshua was already more than 90 years old.
It’s one thing to do warfare and another to possess a land.
You must possess what you have conquered.
Enjoy your possessions - it’s yours!
Esau was rejected because he did not treasure his inheritance.
Nature abhors a vacuum. If you don’t teach your children properly, the devil will step in.
If you don’t teach your children the importance of church, don’t be surprised when one day they think that church is of no importance.
The Book of Proverbs says that the lazy man doesn’t roast the meat that he takes in hunting.
How many of you buy sermon CDs and Christian books and don’t listen to or read them after that?
When you take a mountain of sermon notes during service, meditate on them after that too.
It’s not about swallowing all the food at the restaurant. Slowly savor it at home.
God gave you a tongue to enjoy the different tastes of your food.
At the greatest moment of pleasure, a child is formed - This is what God designed it to be.
He could easily made it such that we slap each other ten times, or climb a high mountain to conceive a child.
God gave us all things to enjoy.
Those who abuse sex never really enjoy the gift.
They sleep with other partners and even animals, never able to find that first time experience again.
Do it God’s way and He will bless you with the greatest pleasure and blessings.

“Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the LORD said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.” (Joshua 13:1 NKJV)

Joshua 14:6-13 - This secret will help you stay and look young. How do you fight the good fight of faith?
Only Joshua and Caleb brought back a good report of the promised land after spying it out.
They declared that it was a very very good land.
Both Joshua and Caleb were contemporaries which are often compared with side by side.
Joshua was always fighting and fighting, being stressed out - so he grew old.
Caleb’s first words to Joshua in the passage: “You know the word which the Lord said... concerning you and me”.
Many believers do not know what the word of God says concerning them.
When you turn 40, mark that date and decide that you will stop growing old from that day.
Caleb was forty years old when he brought back the word as was in his heart - Caleb treasured God’s words in his heart.
The inheritance was in Caleb (his heart), long before Caleb was in his inheritance.
Go by what God’s word says about you and me. Not by what other people say about you.
Caleb wholly followed (in Hebrew it is followed followed) the Lord.
The Lord is the One who keeps you alive.
Caleb’s story is not so much about conquering the land but possessing the land. It’s about inheritance.
When Caleb heard Moses’ words concerning his inheritance, he stopped growing old - he believed he would live long to possess his inheritance.
Caleb’s physical strength was exactly the same at 85 as when he was 40.
In Hebrew it’s more like “since the Lord has been with me” - Caleb knew that God was always with him.

“Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which the LORD said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea. I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’ And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.” (Joshua 14:6-13 NKJV)

Sandcastles Don't Last Forever

$7.99

This is the eBook version.

If you prefer to get the Paperback version (physical copy), you can get it on Amazon here for US$15.

About the Book:

One day when I was singing praises to God, an image floated up in my spirit: a big and beautiful sandcastle being washed away by the waves from the sea. God was teaching me the futility of holding tightly onto worldly possessions because like the sandcastle, they won't last, and one day will cease to exist.

He taught me from His word to focus on Him and by doing so, I would reap great eternal rewards before Jesus' throne at the start of the Millennium. These rewards will last forever and can't be destroyed or stolen.

It is my prayer that the revelations in this book will help you to live with a focus on the things above where God is, fulfill your God-given calling in life, be happier and to accumulate more eternal rewards to your account.

In this Book, you will learn about:

- Heavenly investment advice and the futility of worldly pursuits from a trillionaire in the Bible

- Why God has to reward us in order to be righteous

- When and how God will destroy the current earth and sky to make way for new ones

- The types of fireproof works that earn eternal rewards at the end of time

- The abundant rewards of doing good works while abiding by the non-disclosure agreement between God and you

- The difference between the temporary places of torment: Sheol and Abaddon

- Who is the Antichrist and his name revealed in the Bible

- What is the Mark of the Beast and why it disqualifies its recipients from receiving salvation

- The different judgments at the throne of Jesus Christ and what it means for you as a believer

- How to fulfill your calling and maximize your gifts to receive the best eternal rewards

Testimonials about the contents of this book:

"Sandcastles Don't Last Forever is very well written, its message loud and clear. Milton Goh gives common-sense insight on often confusing Scripture, which is much appreciated in these troubled times. My understanding of the Bible has definitely improved."

- Mike Garrett, first Editor/ Publisher for Stephen King and Author of Christian Novel "Innocence Denied", from USA

"This book is absolutely breathtaking. We don't work to be saved but were created to do good works. I am so energized and excited to know God values our works and we will be rewarded. This is all Glory to Jesus... I cant wait to throw my crowns at his feet and thank him for saving my life!" - Evangelist Michael Clark from USA

"Dear Milton Goh, I truly thank our Abba, Father for the revelations in this book. It is so amazing how I begin to discover important verses in the Bible that I have never read. That instead of following riches, with sleepless nights, and actually shortening our lives, we are just to 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ', and 'Love one another'. How beautiful to find out that actually in the Bible there is both 'Earthly or Worldly Investment Wisdom' and 'Eternal Investment Wisdom' according to the revelations here from Ecclesiastes 5:14-17 WEB)!; “It seems like Solomon was not only wise at earning material riches but also at earning eternal riches.” All the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you Milton Goh for such a wonderful book!" - Nitta Nierra from Belgium

“Thank you Milton. I have just finished reading “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”. It’s such a good book that's filled with God's word. I love it very much. Might read again if I have the time. Thanks so much!” - Mally Chai from Singapore

"I'm reading this book and loving it! The revelations of the Gospel truth shared and it's life applications are absolutely amazing! I give glory to the Lord Jesus for my dear brother Milton for this exceptional resource. I'm gonna keep feeding on its contents and believe God for supernatural breakthroughs as my mind is renewed in Christ!" - Terence from Tombel, Cameroon

“Excellent book!! I enjoyed reading it so much and definitely recommend it! Milton is so gifted and all his teachings have blessed me tremendously! I thank God for people like him. Get this book, it will be worth it!” - Madeleine from SA, “Unmerited Favor” tier patron

Master the Bible to possess your inheritance

Ephesians 1:3-14 - We have already been blessed with every type of spiritual blessing in Christ.
Your child may have done something wrong but they can still be without blame to you. Not sinless, but blameless.
The word “accepted” is “charitoo” in Greek which means favored.
The only other place in the New Testament where charitoo is used is of Mary - highly “favored” among women.
Every Jewish girl wanted to be the one to give birth to the Messiah, but Mary was chosen among them.
The word “Beloved” is chosen deliberately by God to make us feel warm when we think about our inheritance in Christ.
Do you realize that after you make a mistake, something good happens that makes you feel warm?
Where sin abounds, grace superabounds. Of course, don’t sin purposely so that grace can superabound - that’s just stupidity.
The word “have” is “echo” in Greek which means to actively hold on to your redemption and forgiveness of sins. Have a “it’s mine!” attitude.
If someone gives you $1 out of his $10 million savings, it’s still giving “out of his riches”.
But we are forgiven “according to the riches” of God’s grace - it means all.
Are we just going to be happy that we’re righteous, or are we going to live for the Lord?
You cannot live in a depraved moral atmosphere and expect your children to thrive.
If they don’t hear God’s name being mentioned, then they will find their guide elsewhere in the world.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:3-14 NKJV)

Joshua 15:16-19 - Hebron’s old name was Kirjath-Arba. Kirjath Sepher means “city of the book”.
Master the book (the Bible) and you will possess your inheritance.
Othniel means “Lion of God” - it is a picture of Jesus. Jesus is the Lion is Judah who took us, the church, as His wife.
Caleb’s daughter was like Caleb - she knew how to ask for her inheritance.
Ask for both springs - The upper springs is the Holy Spirit (The Spirit of the Lord) who comes upon you, the anointing that comes upon you to do great exploits for the Lord. This comes and goes.
The lower springs is the Holy Spirit that abides constantly inside you.

“And Caleb said, “He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.” So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife. Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you wish?” She answered, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.” (Joshua 15:16-19 NKJV)

John 21:19-22 - The gospel of John ends with Jesus as if He’s still on earth. It’s because He’s God - He’s everywhere (omnipresent).
One disciple boasted in his love for Jesus and the other boasted in Jesus’ love for him.
Peter had to be told by Jesus to follow Him.
John didn’t have to be told to follow Jesus. John knew to follow Jesus automatically.
When you love the Lord, you don’t have to be conscious of it - you will automatically follow Jesus.
When your eyes are on yourself and your performance, that’s when bitterness and jealousy creep in.

“This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.” Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”” (John 21:19-22 NKJV)

Closing Prayer:
Pastor Prince declared a blessing over us that we are blessed because we revere the Lord. The more you say that you are a child of God and call God your Father, the more you will inherit.
Our wives will be like a fruitful vine, intoxicating, attractive and beautiful. Our children will be like olive plants, anointed and able to break the yoke of bondage and evil in this morally depraved world.
The Lord’s protection is with us in Jesus’ name, Amen!
