24 October 2018 - Victory through Singing the Psalms of David (Encounter Night) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Ephesians 5:18-19 - We will receive victory over our enemies through singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. David sang psalms and his tests became testimonies.
“be filled” is a passive imperative. The way God releases His wisdom to us is by us being filled with the Spirit.

“Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;” (Ephesians 5:18-19 WEB)

These are the days where the Lord is restoring the Tabernacle of David, as prophesied by the prophet Amos. It is not like the Tabernacle of Moses whereby you have to go through the laver, the screen, the holy place, the veil, before you reach the Holy of Holies.
For the Tabernacle of David, when you enter, you’re immediately in the Holy of Holies.

When Jehoshaphat was surrounded by the armies of his enemies, he set musicians to praise the Lord and God caused the enemies to fight among themselves and they were all defeated without Israel having to fight.
The words the musicians sang were "Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy endures forever".
There were so much spoils in that valley for Jehoshaphat and his army to gather up and take as bounty.

II Chronicles 29:30 - When you praise the Lord with the words of the psalms of David, you will gain victory over your enemies.
The Book of Psalms in Hebrew is called Tehillim, which means “praises”.
David wrote 76 psalms.
Asaph wrote 12 psalms.
The sons of Korah wrote 11 psalms. Korah was the one who led the rebellion against Moses and God caused the ground to open up, swallow Korah and all his followers up. God still had grace on Korah’s descendants by making them worshippers.
Ethan wrote 1 psalm.
Heman wrote 1 psalm.
David’s son Solomon was wiser than Heman, Ethan and Asaph.
Worship leaders at that time were very wise people. They were filled with wisdom when they sang the words of David.
Selah is a musical interlude to meditate and contemplate on the goodness and ways of the Lord.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

“Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to Yahweh with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.” (2 Chronicles 29:30 WEB)

There are many John’s, many Mary’s, many Joseph’s, but only one David in the Bible. There are so many chapters dedicated to the life of David because his life is a picture of God’s beloved Son, Jesus.

Sandcastles Don't Last Forever

$7.99

This is the eBook version.

If you prefer to get the Paperback version (physical copy), you can get it on Amazon here for US$15.

About the Book:

One day when I was singing praises to God, an image floated up in my spirit: a big and beautiful sandcastle being washed away by the waves from the sea. God was teaching me the futility of holding tightly onto worldly possessions because like the sandcastle, they won't last, and one day will cease to exist.

He taught me from His word to focus on Him and by doing so, I would reap great eternal rewards before Jesus' throne at the start of the Millennium. These rewards will last forever and can't be destroyed or stolen.

It is my prayer that the revelations in this book will help you to live with a focus on the things above where God is, fulfill your God-given calling in life, be happier and to accumulate more eternal rewards to your account.

In this Book, you will learn about:

- Heavenly investment advice and the futility of worldly pursuits from a trillionaire in the Bible

- Why God has to reward us in order to be righteous

- When and how God will destroy the current earth and sky to make way for new ones

- The types of fireproof works that earn eternal rewards at the end of time

- The abundant rewards of doing good works while abiding by the non-disclosure agreement between God and you

- The difference between the temporary places of torment: Sheol and Abaddon

- Who is the Antichrist and his name revealed in the Bible

- What is the Mark of the Beast and why it disqualifies its recipients from receiving salvation

- The different judgments at the throne of Jesus Christ and what it means for you as a believer

- How to fulfill your calling and maximize your gifts to receive the best eternal rewards

Testimonials about the contents of this book:

"Sandcastles Don't Last Forever is very well written, its message loud and clear. Milton Goh gives common-sense insight on often confusing Scripture, which is much appreciated in these troubled times. My understanding of the Bible has definitely improved."

- Mike Garrett, first Editor/ Publisher for Stephen King and Author of Christian Novel "Innocence Denied", from USA

"This book is absolutely breathtaking. We don't work to be saved but were created to do good works. I am so energized and excited to know God values our works and we will be rewarded. This is all Glory to Jesus... I cant wait to throw my crowns at his feet and thank him for saving my life!" - Evangelist Michael Clark from USA

"Dear Milton Goh, I truly thank our Abba, Father for the revelations in this book. It is so amazing how I begin to discover important verses in the Bible that I have never read. That instead of following riches, with sleepless nights, and actually shortening our lives, we are just to 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ', and 'Love one another'. How beautiful to find out that actually in the Bible there is both 'Earthly or Worldly Investment Wisdom' and 'Eternal Investment Wisdom' according to the revelations here from Ecclesiastes 5:14-17 WEB)!; “It seems like Solomon was not only wise at earning material riches but also at earning eternal riches.” All the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you Milton Goh for such a wonderful book!" - Nitta Nierra from Belgium

“Thank you Milton. I have just finished reading “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”. It’s such a good book that's filled with God's word. I love it very much. Might read again if I have the time. Thanks so much!” - Mally Chai from Singapore

"I'm reading this book and loving it! The revelations of the Gospel truth shared and it's life applications are absolutely amazing! I give glory to the Lord Jesus for my dear brother Milton for this exceptional resource. I'm gonna keep feeding on its contents and believe God for supernatural breakthroughs as my mind is renewed in Christ!" - Terence from Tombel, Cameroon

“Excellent book!! I enjoyed reading it so much and definitely recommend it! Milton is so gifted and all his teachings have blessed me tremendously! I thank God for people like him. Get this book, it will be worth it!” - Madeleine from SA, “Unmerited Favor” tier patron

Jesus fulfilled Psalm 22 so that we could enjoy the blessings of Psalm 23

Luke 24:27 - Moses is the first five books. Prophets is all the books before the Psalms. Jesus had not enough time to continue all the way to the Psalms because they had already reached the village.

“Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27 WEB)

Luke 24:44 - Even the Psalms are all about Jesus. At the cross, Jesus quoted from Psalm 22 - “Oh my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”. There is an anointing in the psalms to soothe a suffering soul.
Jesus was punished at the cross on our behalf.
You and I today (believers) will never suffer any punishment from God.

“He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”” (Luke 24:44 WEB)

Psalms 23:1-6 - Psalm 23 happens after the cross. We have all the blessings in it because of what Jesus has done.
When you are going through a trial, you should talk to the Lord with David’s words.
For example, “You are my Shepherd: I shall lack nothing. You make me lie down in green pastures..”.
Instead of “surely”, some translations says “only”. Which is correct? Both! Surely only goodness and mercy will actively hunt you down all the days of your life.

“Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.” (Psalms 23:1-6 WEB)

We are the sheep of God’s hand. He is the Shepherd Who loves us and leads us.

There are many John’s, many Mary’s, many Joseph’s, but only one David in the Bible.
There are so many chapters dedicated to the life of David because his life is a picture of God’s beloved Son, Jesus.
David was anointed as king, but he was rejected by his brothers, just like Jesus was born a King, but rejected by His own.
Jesus has a double-claim to the throne through the lineages of Joseph and Mary.
We follow the rejected one. The world doesn’t see Jesus’ glory. But we, like David’s wife Abigail, follow Him, and see His glory.
In the future, we will sit on Jesus’ throne and rule with Him.
David defeated Goliath, and Jesus defeated a greater Goliath at the cross - the devil.
Of David’s servants, some fought for the kingdom for their own ulterior motives, whereas the faithful ones fought for the kingdom for the sake of the king.
Joab was David’s commander-in-chief but his name was never mentioned in the list of David’s mighty men.
Joab had a heart for the kingdom, but not for the king.
Are you doing things for the kingdom because you love the Lord Jesus?

The life of David foreshadows the life of Jesus

The very first question asked in the Bible is “Where are you Adam?” (The problem). The very first question asked in the New Testament (In the Gospel of Matthew): “Where is He, born King of the Jews?” (The solution - Jesus).

In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus refers to Himself as a Servant.
At the battlefront, David told King Saul that he (David) was a servant three times: your servant will fight this Philistine, then he said your servant kept his father’s sheep, and then he said your servant will defeat this Philistine.
You cannot have a successful outward life, unless you have a secret hidden life with God.
Do good works (like prayer) in secret and the Father will reward you openly.
Young, ruddy David came fresh from obscurity but he already had a secret life of communion with God.
David came trusting the resources of God. He was the only one unafraid of the enemy.

The Gospel of Luke shows Jesus as a Man.
Eliab (David’s older brother) misinterpreted David being at the battleground as naughtiness.
People of the flesh will misinterpret your faith as arrogance.
David brought and buried the head of Goliath that he cut off, outside of Jerusalem.
The place was probably named Gol Goliath, but through the passage of time, the name was corrupted to become Golgotha.
Many years later, Jesus would crush the head of a greater Goliath, the devil himself, fulfilling the first prophecy in the Bible, that the seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent.

Abner asked about David, “Whose son is he?”. Through the Gospel of John, God wants us to know of His Son, the Servant King.
Jesus uses His power to cure our leprosy, to bring us up when we are down.

David led the 3D army: Distressed, in Debt, and Discontented. When they followed David, they became mighty men. As he was, so did they become.
But those who followed Saul, even though they were mighty men, trembled before him.
We must be careful of which leader we follow, because we will become like the one we follow.
When David fled from Saul, he departed to the cave of Adullam. It became a gathering place for all those who would form the 3D army.
True leadership doesn’t drive people. It leads and inspires. David was a worshipper - Being a giant killer was just incidental.
When you’re a worshipper, you prosper in all things and God blesses you.

Israel stumbled on the stumbling stone because Jesus (their Messiah) did not come in the way they expected Him to. Jesus’ First Coming happened in such a lowly manner. Not like the majesty Israel thought He would come in.

Some people at that time saw through the veil of His flesh and saw God within. The person saw Him and said “Just speak the word and my son will be healed”.
Whenever such an incident happened, it’s almost like Jesus was surprised that they could see Him for who He really is.

When David finally ascended the throne, he asked the people of the tribe of Judah “Why are you the last to receive me?”.
When Jesus comes back, He will ask Israel “Why are you the last to receive Me?”.
Israel will look upon the wounds in His hands and feet and wonder what those are.
Jesus will reply that these are the wounds I received in the house of my friends.

Israel committed the same sin that Joseph’s brothers did to Joseph. They sold Joseph off for 20 pieces of silver to the Gentiles.
Israel sold Jesus off for 30 pieces of silver to the Gentiles as well.

Why is the Millennium necessary? There are people saying “I can’t see God”. When Jesus comes back, they will see Him.
Another excuse that people will say is that “I was born poor, and my circumstance made me unable to be a Christian. Whereas it’s easy for you since you’re born into a rich family”. No one will be poor during the Millennium.
Satan will be bound in the abyss during the Millennium so people can’t give the excuse that “Satan/the devil made me do it”.
There will still be mortal people on earth during the Millennium but we who are believers now will be immortal already.

I wrote about the Millennium before and received the exact, same revelation that Pastor Prince did. I wrote other things about the Millennium too.
Read that post here on my Patreon page: The Millennium Whereby God and Satan will Stop being Excuses for Man’s Sins

We are not going through the seven years of Great Tribulation. We will be taken up in the Rapture before that happens.

Some people ask why isn’t America mentioned in Bible prophecy.
So much movement of the Gospel came out of America. God will not forget America.
Pastor Prince believes that there will be a great revival that will happen in America before the Rapture.
There will be so many that will be saved that the ones left in America after the Rapture are the “non-movers and shakers”, and after that America will become weak.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins: The virgins don’t represent the church. It represents Israel. Pastor Prince believes that when Jesus comes again, half of Israel will be saved, since 5 of the virgins were foolish and 5 were wise. There are many rabbis in Israel who are already meeting secretly to worship Jesus.

During the Millennium, nothing will hurt or destroy in the whole of God’s holy mountain. The wolf and the lamb will lie down together.

Closing Prayer:
Pastor Prince prayed for the Lord to keep us, for His face to shine upon us and for all the blessings of Abraham to come upon us. He declared the protection promises of Psalm 91 over us as well. Receive it in Jesus’ name, Amen!
