6 October 2019 - Healing is for the Undeserving - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes

It is your Heavenly Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Even in your valley seasons, you can have the Lord’s joy.
This joy is not dependent on your circumstances.
Jesus is your joy, hope and peace.

Pastor Lawrence read a testimony of Marcus’ miraculous healing from Alzheimer’s disease through partaking of the Holy Communion. This testimony is in Pastor Joseph Prince’s new book “Eat Your Way to Life and Health”.

There are some diseases that medical science says are incurable—that’s a fact.
But God’s word is the truth and God’s word says that by Jesus’ stripes, we are healed.

God’s will is revealed in His word. It is God’s will for every person to be healed, healthy, strong and to live a life full of energy and vigor.

Jesus is perfect theology. When you see Jesus, you’ll know what God’s will is.
Jesus is the Word and will of God.

Jesus is the exact image of the invisible God. In the Greek, it means that Jesus is the exact representation of what God the Father is like.

Don’t let people cheat you into believing that it’s God will for you to be sick.

When Jesus was on earth, He went about doing good, destroying the works of the devil. One of the things He did most frequently was to heal the sick. He cleansed the lepers and even opened the eyes of the blind.

God’s heart is for you to be healed and to be well.

Exodus 15:26 - Yahweh revealed His name to the children of Israel.
When He reveals His name, it’s because He wants you to know His heart for you.
His name is Yahweh Rapha (Yahweh who heals you).
You can have this assurance in your heart that He wants to heal you through His finished work at the cross.

“and he said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”” ‭‭(Exodus‬ ‭15:26‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Even if something bad happens, God’s Grace is greater than what you did or did not do.
Your faith shouldn’t be based on what you did or did not do.
When bad things happen, don’t blame God and do not blame yourself.
Instead of trying to find out why it happened, look for the solution—Jesus’ finished work at the cross.
God’s provision through the cross is greater than any challenge you may face.

Pastor Lawrence really believes the revelation of the Holy Communion is needed for this season.
We should be immersing in Pastor Prince’s new book and receiving the revelations within.
Pastor Lawrence wasn’t asked by anyone to say this—it’s his own opinion.

The blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed us from every sin, so how can it be that we are made sick because of a sin that we committed many years ago?
God will never hold our sins against us.

When we lay hands on the sick and pray for them to be healed, God answers the prayer of an undeserving person and heals another undeserving person. The lesson is that healing is only by the Grace of God. We can’t deserve it by our own goodness. It is God's will to heal us and it is only possible through Jesus' finished work at the cross!

You have received the authority to lay hands on the sick and they will be healed

John‬ ‭14:10-12‬ ‭- A ministry is verified by God through accompanying miraculous signs and wonders.
Pastor Joseph Prince’s ministry is confirmed by these happening in our church and all over the world.
The hand of God is on our senior pastor and this church.

“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭14:10-12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The devil and his cohorts want to snatch the word of God from your heart straightaway because God’s word is everything that you need in your life.

Mark‬ ‭4:15-17‬ ‭- When trials and afflictions arise on account of the word, many believers stumble.
The devil causes attacks to dissuade you from keeping God’s word in your heart.
There’s a place for you to persevere in believing—don’t give up. The word of God is true.

“The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which has been sown in them. These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy. They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭4:15-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Philippians‬ ‭1:28‬ ‭- Don’t be afraid of your adversaries. When you’re not afraid, you are declaring that they are doomed and that you will be delivered.

“and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.” ‭‭(Philippians‬ ‭1:28‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Genesis 12:10-20 - Abram wasn’t a perfect man, even though he is our father of faith.
Abraham was just looking to save his own skin and didn't care if Sarah would be raped by other men.
Even though it was Abram’s selfishness and lie, God’s protection was on Abram and Sarah’s side.
Can you see God’s heart of protection for us here even though our works aren’t perfect?

“There was a famine in the land. Abram went down into Egypt to live as a foreigner there, for the famine was severe in the land. When he had come near to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “See now, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look at. It will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ They will kill me, but they will save you alive. Please say that you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that my soul may live because of you.” When Abram had come into Egypt, Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful. The princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house. He dealt well with Abram for her sake. He had sheep, cattle, male donkeys, male servants, female servants, female donkeys, and camels. Yahweh afflicted Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this that you have done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now therefore, see your wife, take her, and go your way.” Pharaoh commanded men concerning him, and they escorted him away with his wife and all that he had.” ‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭12:10-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Genesis‬ ‭13:1-2‬ - We would think that Abram should be very poor for being a selfish liar, but he was very rich in livestock, silver and gold.
Grace shocks us.

“Abram went up out of Egypt—he, his wife, all that he had, and Lot with him—into the South. Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.” ‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭13:1-2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Genesis 20:1-18 - Abraham didn’t learn from his previous mistake in Egypt. He lied again that Sarah was only his sister.
It seems as if God threatened the wrong man.
It was Abraham who lied, not Abimelech. Abraham had even brainwashed Sarah to believe and say so.
God still called Abraham a prophet when Abraham was behaving as a selfish, lying coward.
If there is a calling on your life, it is irrevocable. God still sees you in your calling, despite your failures.
God favors us who are children of God, over the children of the world. He will surely protect us.
Even though Abraham made a serious mistake, he was still blessed and restored with more provision.
This is not encouraging us to lie. This passage is pointing to the goodness of God despite our failures.
This is the first occurrence of healing by prayer as recorded in the Bible.
The one who prayed is a man who behaved as a lying, selfish coward.
God answered the prayer of an undeserving person and healed another undeserving person.
The lesson is that healing is only by the Grace of God. We can’t deserve it by our own goodness.

“Abraham traveled from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He lived as a foreigner in Gerar. Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken. For she is a man’s wife.” Now Abimelech had not come near her. He said, “Lord, will you kill even a righteous nation? Didn’t he tell me, ‘She is my sister?’ She, even she herself, said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.” God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I didn’t allow you to touch her. Now therefore, restore the man’s wife. For he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. If you don’t restore her, know for sure that you will die, you, and all who are yours.” Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. The men were very scared. Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!” Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you have done this thing?” Abraham said, “Because I thought, ‘Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife’s sake.’ Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. When God caused me to wander from my father’s house, I said to her, ‘This is your kindness which you shall show to me. Everywhere that we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”’” Abimelech took sheep and cattle, male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and restored Sarah, his wife, to him. Abimelech said, “Behold, my land is before you. Dwell where it pleases you.” To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated.” Abraham prayed to God. God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his female servants, and they bore children. For Yahweh had closed up tight all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.” ‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭20:1-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 16:17-18 - We will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. We aren’t perfect in our character and behavior, but God heeds our prayer because we have a covenant with God, like Abraham did.

“These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭16:17-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 14:8-14 - Philip had doubts about Jesus. We always want God to show us proof.
By saying that He is in the Father and the Father in Him, Jesus meant that He is God.
The basic foundation of our faith is that we believe Jesus is God, as well as the Son of God.
The only qualification for you to do greater works is if you believe in Jesus. This privilege isn’t just for full-time ministry staff—it’s for all believers.
Believers should rise up to lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

“Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father. Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭14:8-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

If you want healing to manifest, Grace (Sarah) must be your wife, not your sister.
Don’t be distant from Grace. You must be one with Grace.
Abraham is a picture of faith. Grace and faith must be connected.
Grace is always greater than any sin in your life.
We need a generation that believes in Grace and rises up to pray for the sick.

Judges 14:14 - Pray for the sick. When you see the sick being healed after you pray, you will no longer fear disease.
Diseases should be afraid of you.
Our healing testimonies become sweet food for us.
What the devil meant for evil against us becomes nourishing faith food for us.
The prey becomes the predator, the hunted becomes the hunter.

“He said to them, “Out of the eater came out food. Out of the strong came out sweetness.” They couldn’t in three days declare the riddle.” ‭‭(Judges‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)
