James 4:13-14 - Life is vulnerable to sudden change. This COVID-19 pandemic has shown it.

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.” Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.” (James‬ ‭4:13-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Despite the troubles around, the Lord is still with you. He is for you and He loves you.

The children of Israel were in Egypt but they were not afflicted by the plagues that struck the Egyptians.
We are in the world but not of the world.

Psalm 42:5 - When the world says “hope”, they use it to refer to something they desire to have, but are unsure whether it will come true.
But Biblical hope is a confident expectation of good things to come. It means you will surely have what you prayed for.
Even though you feel frustrated, disappointed or cast down, remind yourself to hope in God.

“Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.” (Psalms‬ ‭42:5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 23:4 - Always remember that God is with you, even in dark seasons.
Shepherds use the rod to fend off wolves that try to attack the flock. The rod represents God’s protection against enemies.
The shepherd uses the staff to direct the sheep back to the right path. The staff represents God’s guidance.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 119:105 - God’s word is the staff that guides us.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.” (Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When Yahweh is your portion, it means everything that belongs to Him is also yours.

Lamentations 3:21-24 - The prophet Jeremiah wrote the Book of Lamentations. Jeremiah remembered the “hesed” (Grace) of God and it caused him to have hope.
Grace is the unmerited favor of God. You cannot earn it and therefore you cannot lose it by what you do or don’t do.
Even when we fail, God’s compassions fail not.
If you just failed, God’s mercy is new every morning. There is fresh mercy for you.
Yahweh is your portion. It means that whatever God has, whoever He is, belongs to you.
If it’s healing that you need, Yahweh Rapha is your healer.
If it’s provision that you need, Yahweh Yireh is your provider.

“This I recall to my mind; therefore I have hope. It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “Yahweh is my portion,” says my soul. “Therefore I will hope in him.”” (Lamentations‬ ‭3:21-24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 23:1,5 - When you declare “The Lord is my Shepherd,” you are confessing that He will surely provide for you.
Why does your cup need to run over? God doesn’t give only ‘just enough’. He gives abundantly.

“Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing...You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.” (Psalms‬ ‭23:1, 5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 23:6 - Expect good things to happen to you every day.

“Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.” (Psalms‬ ‭23:6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jeremiah 29:11 - The word hope is “tikvah” in Hebrew.
God heart is not to judge you, but to give you a good future.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Joshua 2:9-15 - Many years ago, when twelve spies from the children of Israel came to the land of Canaan to spy out the land, ten spies returned with an evil report, while only two spies came back with a good report.
Your enemies are afraid of you because the Lord is with you. You don’t have to fear them.
The scarlet cord that Rahab bound on her window is a picture of the blood of Jesus.
Our families come under God’s protection when we place our hope in the blood of Jesus.

“She said to the men, “I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. For we have heard how Yahweh dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you utterly destroyed. As soon as we had heard it, our hearts melted, and there wasn’t any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Yahweh your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath. Now therefore, please swear to me by Yahweh, since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father’s house, and give me a true sign; and that you will save alive my father, my mother, my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death.” The men said to her, “Our life for yours, if you don’t talk about this business of ours; and it shall be, when Yahweh gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.” Then she let them down by a cord through the window; for her house was on the side of the wall, and she lived on the wall.” (Joshua‬ ‭2:9-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 16:18 - The COVID-19 pandemic is powerless against God and against the church of God. God’s favor, blessings and protection are upon you.

“I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.” (Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 5:5 - The Holy Spirit is here to remind us how much God loves us.

“and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 15:13 - God wants us to abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ - Faith and hope are intricately bound. In order to have faith, you must first have hope to activate it.

“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Even if the company you’re working in is not doing well, God can still make you do well in it because His favor is upon you.

Ask yourself, “If other people can prosper in this season, why not me? I am a child of God and God’s favor is upon me!”

Pastor Lawrence prayed for us all to receive restoration in finances and if anyone is lacking a job, that they will receive a position of influence that pays well. Yahweh Yireh shall provide!
