No matter what darkness you are facing, the light of God’s word will give you wisdom.

Luke 12:32 - Abound in hope and always expect good things from God.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” (Luke‬ ‭12:32‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony about a couple who divorced, but they recently remarried. It is the power of the Gospel of Grace.

Psalm 136:1 - Our God is a good God.

“Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever.” (Psalms‬ ‭136:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Grace causes one to live a life that glorifies God.

Hebrews 11:1 - Bible hope is to have a confident expectation of good things to come.

“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Corinthians 1:20 - All promises of God are yes and amen for us.

“For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Joel 3:10 - Our God is the God of all comfort and He strengthens those who are weak. His grace is more than enough for us.

“Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” (Joel‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 9:28-29 - In the original Greek, the word “fasting” is not there. Jesus is emphasizing the power of prayer.

“When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?” He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”” (Mark‬ ‭9:28-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 21:13-14 - Believers are the house of God today. When we are a house of prayer, amazing miraculous breakthroughs will happen.

“He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers!” The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.” (Matthew‬ ‭21:13-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 11:9-13 - Jesus made prayer so simple: ask and you shall receive. The Lord is encouraging us to ask of Him, knowing that He will open doors for us.
Don’t make prayer so complicated—do not worry if you are doing it right or not.

““I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”” (Luke‬ ‭11:9-13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 18:1-8 - Be bold to ask God for great things. You receive not because you ask not.

“He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man. A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’ He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’” The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”” (Luke‬ ‭18:1-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 1:37 - Faith is the substance of things hoped for. It is only through abounding in hope that faith is activated.

“For nothing spoken by God is impossible.”” (Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony of a couple who managed to have a baby girl after seven years of waiting upon the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:57 - No matter what you are going through, we receive the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:57‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 12:1-10 - The church faced a crisis. James was killed, but when Peter was arrested, constant prayer was made for him. When the church prayed for Peter, an angel was sent to rescue Peter out of the prison.
Do not give up on prayer--your time is coming.

“Now about that time, King Herod stretched out his hands to oppress some of the assembly. He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword. When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread. When he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover. Peter therefore was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him. The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off from his hands. The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak, and follow me.” And he went out and followed him. He didn’t know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out, and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.” (Acts‬ ‭12:1-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus lived a life of prayer, showing us how to receive God's power to reign in life

Jesus lived a life of prayer. He lived as a man who fully depended on God.

Luke 3:21-22 - Jesus, in His humility, went to John to be baptized.
It was while Jesus was praying that Heaven opened to Him.

“Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also had been baptized, and was praying. The sky was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”” (Luke‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 5:15-16 - Jesus was faced with great multitudes and great success in His ministry. He often withdrew to be alone with God the Father, to spend time in prayer.

“But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. But he withdrew himself into the desert, and prayed.” (Luke‬ ‭5:15-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Philippians 4:6-7 - Take time to seek the Lord and ask of Him. The antidote for worry is to cast all your cares upon God.

“In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Job 42:10 - When Job prayed for his friends, God restored Job for all his losses. When you take time to pray for others, God will bless you.

“Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job‬ ‭42:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

James 5:16 - When you pray for others, you will be healed. God incentivizes us to pray for others.

“Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.” (James‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 9:28-29 - Jesus was transfigured as He was praying. When we pray, we are transformed from glory to glory, into the same image as the Lord.

“About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray. As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.” (Luke‬ ‭9:28-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony of a believer who was delivered from addiction to pornography and masturbation. He was transformed by freely receiving the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness—not by self-effort. Amidst your weakness, look to Jesus.

1 John 3:21-22 - Prayer is not a work. It is a response that comes from the grace of God touching our hearts.
God has promised to remember our sins no more.
Do not hold your sins against yourself today when God does not hold them against you.
God wants you to ask Him for great things. He wants you to reign in life—in every area of your life.

“Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God; and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.” (1 John‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony of a man who was unemployed for a long time because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The man received a much higher salary than he asked for, in an industry that he had no experience in.

2 Kings 20:1-5 - What do you do when you receive a negative report? King Hezekiah did not just resign to his fate. He prayed to live and not die.
The Lord revealed to Hezekiah that he was going to die, so that he could have the opportunity to pray and ask Him to reverse the situation.
A negative report is an opportunity to pray.
Hezekiah’s prayer was granted quickly. Before Isaiah had even reached the middle part of the city, God had given a new edict: Hezekiah would be healed and he would not die.
Do not give up on prayer. Every day that passes by, you are one day closer to your miracle. For with God, nothing shall be impossible.

“In those days Hezekiah was sick and dying. Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Set your house in order; for you will die, and not live.’” Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Yahweh, saying, “Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before Isaiah had gone out into the middle part of the city, Yahweh’s word came to him, saying, “Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to Yahweh’s house.” (2 Kings‬ ‭20:1-5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Ephesians 6:18 - Persevere in prayer at all times, especially praying in the Spirit (praying in tongues).

“with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:” (Ephesians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus even prayed for those who wanted to crucify Him. He asked God to forgive them, saying that they did not know what they were doing. Pray even for God to save and bless your enemies.

Psalm 103:9-12 - God’s heart is to forgive us of all our sins. He does not want to hold our sins against us.

“He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms‬ ‭103:10-12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)
